Kelly Shea Gallo Foundation
About Us

Dear Friends & Family,

The Kelly Shea Gallo Foundation was formed in memory of Kelly Shea Gallo, who died of breast cancer at the age of 35.

Kelly grew up in South San Francisco and Millbrae.  In 1986, Kelly graduated from Mercy High School Burlingame. She obtained a liberal arts degree from California State University, Chico, where she was a founding president of the first Alpha Delta Pi sorority at CSU.  Kelly went on to receive her teaching credential from San Francisco State University.

Kelly made a significant impact on her community as a dedicated and cherished teacher at Taylor Middle School where she coordinated the Outdoor Education Program, and as a beloved coach.  She held many coaching positions in her career, spanning middle school, high school and collegiate levels in a variety of sports, including basketball, softball and volleyball.

As a coach, Kelly consistently went above and beyond to make sure her players had an opportunity to develop to their full potential – both on and off the court.  She touched the lives of young athletes at Taylor Middle School, Mills High School, and Notre Dame de Namur University.

Kelly was a favorite swim instructor and lifeguard at Millbrae Meadows Swim Club for almost two decades.

Kelly’s greatest joys were her two beautiful girls, Mia and Chloe, who are now ages twelve and nine.  Along with coaching and teaching, Kelly was most fulfilled by being there for her family, friends, and players.

Kelly inspired so many people to be the best that they can be.  All who knew her loved her, and the joy she brought to everything she did was contagious.  We hope you can join us for an evening of fun and reflection while supporting the foundation in Kelly’s name.

Thank you,

 The Shea Family & Friends
